Fundable & Investable Projects
October 2025 | Primary Region: Genesee Finger Lakes | Expansion Potential: New Jersey & Beyond

🌱 Overview

CRCS and Possible Planet work together to advance regenerative community solutions that bridge ecological restoration, community empowerment, and innovative finance. Rooted in the Genesee Finger Lakes bioregion, our initiatives build replicable models for local resilience and planetary regeneration.

We seek philanthropic partnerships to strengthen local capacity, expand education and engagement, and demonstrate scalable systems for climate adaptation, regenerative living, and bioregional collaboration.

I. CRCS: Community Organizing around Regeneration

1. Suburban Homesteaders Bioregional Network

A growing network of households practicing regenerative living—urban gardening, water management, renewable energy, and mutual aid. The project connects suburban residents through workshops, mapping tools, and neighborhood-scale resilience hubs.
Funding priorities: Outreach, digital platform, community education.
Outcomes: Climate resilience, food security, local cooperation.
Expansion potential: Replicable in NJ and other regions.

2. Genesee Finger Lakes Bioregional Organizing Hub

A regional coordination center linking local governments, nonprofits, and citizens to advance regenerative development and ecosystem restoration. The Hub will host participatory mapping, bioregional assemblies, and collaborative projects.
Funding priorities: Staff, convenings, communication tools.
Outcomes: Regional resilience strategy, coalition building.
Expansion potential: Model for Delaware River and Raritan Basin regions.

3. Sustainable Home Loan Program (“Bioregional PACE”)

An innovative financing model enabling homeowners to invest in energy efficiency, water conservation, and renewable energy improvements. Adapting the proven C-PACE framework for residential use, the program combines community financing with equitable access.
Funding priorities: Seed capital for pilot revolving fund, design of underwriting and support tools.
Outcomes: Reduced emissions, lower household costs, green jobs.
Expansion potential: Integration with NJ municipal sustainability programs.

4. Community Economic Development through C-PACE

Leveraging Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) financing for local economic revitalization and job creation. CRCS provides education, project support, and municipal engagement to align private investment with public benefit.
Funding priorities: Outreach and training for municipalities, technical assistance.
Outcomes: Local clean energy investment, inclusive economic growth.
Expansion potential: Collaboration with the NJPACE Alliance and other state programs.

5. Capacity Building for Local, Bioregional, and Global Organizing

CRCS acts as a fiscal sponsor and incubator for regenerative initiatives worldwide. Current projects include the Design School for Regenerating Earth, offering training and coordination for global ecosystem restoration.
Funding priorities: Administrative capacity, micro-grant fund for sponsored projects.
Outcomes: Scalable support infrastructure for regenerative practitioners.
Expansion potential: Creation of a Regenerative Projects Incubator across bioregions.
